Black Men Skin Care

Black men skin care information

Black men skin is thicker and oilier than other ethnic groups. Having oilier skin means that is more likely to suffer from spots and blemishes.

Black skin is better protected from sunlight due to the amount of melanin that contains. The melanin acts as a natural protection from the sun, but in spite, black skin still needs to use sunscreen of at least SPF 15 to avoid sun damage.

Another characteristic of black men skin are shaving bumps. These bumps are due to in growing hairs which can be very painful and sometimes can leave scars and cause infection.

One of the obvious benefits of black skin in men is that ages better and the skin is less prone to wrinkles. But as the skin ages some parts of the skin become rougher, specially the ones that have been exposed to the sun. There is also a loss of volume in the skin due to a reduction in collagen production . Also with age the changes in skin pigmentation are more obvious in dark skin. These can be more prominent in different areas of the body, such as under eye circles and some parts on the face and neck. Dark skin is also more prone to suffer from benign tumours.
