Dermabrasion is a surgical procedure performed by a surgeon or dermatologist and consist in taking layers from the skin with a specialized instrument. First the skin is frozen with a spray and a tool with a rotating head is placed over the skin.

Dermabrasion can be performed as an out-patient basis, however your surgeon may consider a brief stay in the hospital. Staying out of the sun is very important and wearing sunscreen with high SPF every day is a must.
